“Don’t be afraid to get creative and experiment with your marketing.”

The home page of your website is usually the first thing that people see when they land on your site, so it is important to design it in a way that will capture the visitor’s attention and clearly shows what the site offers. Your home page is also a major representation of your brand and style. The front page of your site can be a challenge to design, but the following tips will help you to create a great page.
1. Decide on a Layout
The first step to creating a front page is to decide on a layout and the tools you will use to create the home page. You can draw a sketch of the basic layout structure or create it will a design tool such as Photoshop. There are also website platforms such as WordPress that you can buy themes for that come with home page template layouts that you can use. The layout you choose should keep your website looking clean, uncluttered, and easy to navigate.
2. Add a Slideshow or Video
Adding a slideshow at the beginning of your page is a great option because it captures the attention of your visitors. On the slides, include interesting pictures relevant to what you offer, a headline with 4-7 words including your keywords, and a sub-headline with 10-15 words. You can also include buttons such as “Learn More” or “Buy Now”. Instead of a slideshow, you can also opt for a adding a video, which is especially great for showing how a product works.
3. Add Content about Your Offers
You might add some sections describing the features and benefits of what you offer, which may include lists of products or services, add a short introduction about who you are, include some content from your blog, or some links to other pages in your site.
4. Create Calls to Action
Your homepage should advertise other areas of your website and link to them. As you design your layout, identify where you will include calls to action such as a link to a product, singing up for a newsletter, product promotions, scheduling a call or making a reservation. Make your calls to action clickable when possible, especially above the fold. Include secondary calls to action below the fold.
5. Add Social Proof
To quickly start building trust with your visitors, add some testimonials or list of clients to your front page, awards you have won, or logos of media that you have been featured in. Also, don’t forget to include social media icons so that people can visit your profiles, connect with you, and share your content.
